'The Game' (appologies to William Shakespear)

This day is called the feast of 'The Game'
He that wins this day, and comes safe home
Will stand tall when this day is named,
And rouse him at the name of 'The Game'.
He that shall compete this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the eve, feast his neighbors,
And say 'Tomorrow is the aniversary of 'The Game'
Then he will strip his sleeve, and show his scars,
And say "These wounds I recieved on the day of 'The Game'.
Old men forget: yet all shall be forgot,
But He shall remember, with advantages,
What feats he did that day. Then shall the names,
Familiar on his toungue as household words,
Brian Brohm the quarterback, Smith and Stripling,
Urritia and Douglas, Omobi Okoye and Nate Harris
Be in their flowing beer mugs remembered.
This story shall the Cardinal fan teach his son,
And 'The Game' shall never be forgotten
From this day to the ending of the world.
But those in it shall be remembered -
The few, those happy few, the band of brothers;
For those today that play 'The Game'
Shall be brothers, be he ever so vile,
This day is his salvation:
And football players around the world,
Shall think themselves accursed that they were not here,
And hold their manhood cheap, while any speak that played today in 'The Game'.
